POLICY

Posts that do not follow these policies will be deleted from the group without notice.  If a member continues to not follow policy, their membership to the group will be removed without notice.

PRIVACY SETTINGS
Your privacy settings for private messaging must be set to "everyone" so that you can communicate with buyers and sellers within the group.  See the "How To" section below for instructions if needed.

SAFETY OF POSTING PERSONAL INFORMATION
I would highly recommend when exchanging your personal information like your phone number and time and place of meeting that you private message that person. We have close to 1,000 people on this group and for your safety, I would private message people your personal details. You never know who see's your posts and you don't want them having your personal information and knowing what kind of vehicle your going to be in and when and where.

BUMP POLICY
If your item has been listed for more than 4 days without comments or interaction on the listing, you can write BUMP in the comment and it will be posted again at the top of the group. (If your item is receiving inquiries and comments, it is automatically bumped to the top and the BUMP allowance can not be used until the 4 days has passed since the last comment was made on the post.) An item can be bumped a total of 3 times.  Thank you for being courteous with the 4 day wait period and 3 time maximum as it is frustrating to shoppers and unfair to sellers when your items are bumped too often.

DELETE WHEN SOLD POLICY
When your listed item sells and is picked up by a buyer, please be courteous to the members of this group and delete your sale post from the page. Thank you!

NO SHOWS POLICY
When someone schedules a time to meet (seller or buyer) and then doesn't show without prior contact to cancel or delay their meeting, please report it to the administrators of this group. If a person's name is reported twice (by two different individuals) they will be deleted from the group immediately. (Please use good judgement and be sensitive to unpreventable circumstances that may delay or prevent someone from attending a planned meeting.  There are some circumstances that are truly unavoidable and grace needs to be applied in these events.  Ex. A child got sick and they couldn't get in touch with you in time to cancel.) No shows or excessively late individuals who do not follow up with a phone call or respond to your contacts should be reported immediately.

BUSINESS ADVERTISING POLICY
Business advertisements (one picture/post) that are related to the description of the group can be posted once a week. Advertisers can not bump their ad . To minimize bumping above other member’s sale items due to comments, the following must be included in your actual post (not the comment box). “Please pm for additional information.”  Please do not post more than one picture.

DONATIONS REQUEST POLICY
Scammers have limited how we can safely request donations in this group. (People are requesting donations then reselling it for their own profit.) For the safety of the group, if you list a donation request, please include a non-profit organization that the items for the individuals can be dropped off to. All posts without this information will have to be deleted. I'm sorry about the inconvenience.

POSTING POLICY
Only items that pertain to the description of the group are allowed.

INDIVIDUAL ITEM POST POLICY
There is a limit of 4 individual posts per member.  Once once one posts sells, it can be deleted and replace with a new post. See additional instructions in the 'How To' section below.  Posts exceeding the limit will be deleted without notification.

MULTIPLE ITEM POST POLICY
We ask that albums be posted on your personal profile or personal facebook page.  These can then be advertised to buyers within the group by adding a direct link to your items.  If you are unsure how to do this, we have included detailed instructions with step by step pictures below in our "How To" section. Albums posted directly within the group are a problem because facebook reposts the items a second time on the group wall when potential buyers comment on items.  This has created concerns for other sellers within the group.  For this reason, albums posted directly on the group page are NOT allowed and will be immediately deleted.  To prevent loosing connections with buys who have already commented on your items, please follow the policy so that a deletion of your posts will not be necessary.  See additional information in our 'How To' section below.

COMPLAINT POLICY
  • Policies are set in place based on complaints we have received. In turn, we take all complaints into consideration and make policy based on this for the betterment of the group as a whole. With a group this large, it is impossible to please everyone-some will want things one way and the same amount of people will want it another. In the process of trying to help, admins are receiving abrasive emails and posts. We are NOT getting paid for this and we invest a considerable amount of time away from our families to help other moms by keeping this group running.  Any complains about admins or policies posted in the group will receive immediate membership removal. Those of you who have concerns, we do appreciate your input. Please private message an admin with polite requests.
  • To foster a positive group atmosphere, no complaints about other buyers, sellers or their posts can be made publicly, in the group. All complaints about a buyer, seller or a post in the group must be private messaged to administrators.  We will personally handle complaints on an individual private basis only.

BABY FORMULA POLICY
The sale of baby formula or cereal/food is prohibited in our group. We have had some issues in the past where people have tried to sell formula that they received through the WIC program which is illegal. To avoid any problems in the future the sale of formula and baby food/formula of any kind is prohibited in our group. Feel free to offer it for free.

DROP SIDE CRIBS
The sale of drop side cribs are prohibited in our group.  Due to all the recent recalls and Consumer Product Safety Commission, we feel it is best that you not list them (even if FREE) in this group.

FAQ

I'M NOT GETTING MY PRIVATE MESSAGES (PM)!
Try clicking on the 'message' tab in the top of the column on the left. It will open up and show an "other" tab/folder below it. Sometimes messages go in that folder and you have to click 'message' to see they are there.

I'VE LOST MY ITEMS IN THE GROUP.  HOW CAN I FIND THEM?
In the top right corner above the "Members" section is a "Search This Group" box.  Type in your name or another member's name and hit enter.  Note:  You don't have to know their entire name.  If you just type in their first name it will pull up all the posts in that group with that name.

CAN I ADD MY FRIENDS TO THIS GROUP
YES!!!  The more the merrier!! Add your friends and family to the group by clicking the "Add Friends to Group" on the right side of the group page under where the members are shown.

ARE THERE WAYS TO BROWSE EASIER?
Click on the "photos" button at the top of the page and browse by photo.

CAN I LIMIT NOTIFICATIONS FOR THE GROUP WITHOUT LEAVING IT?
Yes, you can change your settings so that you are still a member, but no long get notifications. Switch the 'Notifications' button on the top right side of the group page to off.  When you do this it will only show you that posts have been made by displaying a grey number next to the group name that is listed in the left column of your facebook page. If you do this, don't forget to check back in every now and then to see what others are posting to sell.

HOW TO

HOW TO SET PRIVATE MESSAGE PRIVACY SETTINGS TO 'EVERYONE'
Click on the upside down triangle located at the top right of your page. Choose "Privacy Settings". Look to the right side of "How You Connect" and click "edit settings". Find "Who can send you facebook messages" and in the drop down list to the right select "everyone". Lastly click done.

SELLING WITH INDIVIDUAL POSTS  (This is the fastest and easiest way to sell.)
Grab a quick image with your cell phone, camera or webcam and upload to the group. Include descriptions (ex, price, size, brand name, condition of item) with the image. Limit 4 individual posts per member at a time. When one sells you can post another. (If you want to have more than 4 posts, see instructions below to learn how to post albums on your personal facebook page and link them to our group.)  QUICK TIP:  You can photograph multiple items together in the same photograph.  Let buyers know if they can buy just one of your items at a time or if you are selling them as a group.
To communicate with buyers, make sure your facebook privacy settings are set to allow 'everyone' to message you about your items.

LOOK FOR SPECIFIC ITEMS?
Let others know what your looking for. Make a post using the letters WTB (stands for Wanting To Buy)

HOW TO PURCHASE IN THE GROUP
To help make it easier for others to shop, comment once on an item to let the seller know you are sending them a message. Then PRIVATE MESSAGE the seller to ask questions or set up a meeting location and time. Please do not keep comments going on items that have been claimed. It keeps bumping the item to the top and creates a disadvantage to others who have items for sale. Thanks!!

SELLING WITH ALBUMS
If you want more than 4 posts at a time, create a"personal profile album" or create a "page" to post your items in.  Using albums are also beneficial if you are selling items in multiple facebook groups.  You can create one album and post the link easily in multiple groups.

Here is how to create a "personal profile album":
A "personal profile album" will post your for sale items on all your facebook friends will see it.

Click "Home" in the top right corner of your facebook page to take you to your personal profile homepage.

Click "Add Photo/Video"

Click "Create Photo Album"

As your photos upload, change the name of the album to the name of your swap/exchange group.  Change the "Share album with:" setting to "Public"
If a "Save Tag" window comes up click "Skip Tagging Friends"
Click on any of the images to make them large.

Click on the "edit" button located just above the comment box.

Add a description (size, brand name, price, description of quality, etc.).  Click "Save"

Click the forward or back arrows to flip through all the images in your album.  Apply a description to each one.

Press "Esc" to exit out of the album and it will take you back to the page with all the images on it.  Copy the link at the bottom.

Go to your swap/exchange group.  Click "Add Photo/Video".  Click "Upload Photo/Video".  Add description of image and past the link to your "page" where you sale items are located..  Click "Post".

Here is how to create a "page" on your profile:
A "page" does not post the items on your friend's pages allowing you to post items/pictures individually.

Go to http://www.facebook.com/page .  Click "Create Page" in the top right.

Click on "Artist, Band or Public Figure"

In the drop down list that pops up click anything you like.  (I personally like Monarch..ha ha)  Add your name.  Click the "Facebook Terms & Agreements" Box.  Click "Get Started".

Click "Skip" 3 times when this window comes up.

Click on "Wall" located in the left column.

Click "Photo".  Click "Upload A Photo". Add a description in the "Say something about this photo" box. (price, size, name brand, quality of product etc.) Click "Photo" and add a photo of the image.

Now its time to tell your Swap/Exchange group about your items.  Highlight the URL of the fanpage acd copy it..

Go to your swap/exchange group.  Click "Add Photo/Video".  Click "Upload Photo/Video".  Add description of image and past the link to your "page" where you sale items are located..  Click "Post".
